Exciting times ahead!
Thank you to everyone who has been in touch to congratulate me on my recent appointment as the 2019 Ping Junior Solheim Cup Captain to be played at Gleneagles. The full press release can be found in my blog on Hole 8 and as the qualification period starts from 1st January 2019, the match approaches and the teams take shape I will keep you updated. Suffice to say that I am really excited by the prospect of the matches to be played at one of my favourite venues in the world in front of what will I’m sure be a partisan but fair Scottish audience.
There is a lot of water to flow under the bridge before then. Having recently returned from our annual golfing trip to Turkey, I can honestly say that Turkey must be one of, if not the best golfing destinations value for money and experience anywhere! The Gloria Serenity Hotel continues to find ways to improve from an already exceptional starting place. The weather, golf courses, practice facilities, food, accommodation and service are truly hard to beat. Go to Hole 3 to look at our trip there in 2019. It is a great way to kick start your golf for the start of the UK Golf season. Totally different but equally appealing is our February trip to Fuertaventura when most of us are itching to play some golf in better conditions and have something to look forward to!
If you want your game to get thoroughly checked over, go to Hole 2 and get your own group together for a days’ tuition at The Warren. The Club has a great ambience, a well stocked Pro’s Shop, excellent practice facilities and good food.
Whatever your golfing ambitions I wish you a great golfing year ahead!
